Week Six!

It's October---what? In less than a month it's November, then it's December, which means the end of the semester. At least that's how my brain looks at it. I am enjoying my classes, my jobs, and my involvements on campus, at least much more than the summer-esque weather that hasn't seemed to end yet.

This week I did poster hanging again. A past professor, Professor Rus, made 3 posters for the classes he was teaching in the spring semester. It is inspiring to see how much work he does, in tandem with hallway chats with students or engaging with everyone at Open House, to gather student interest and find them valuable resources. At Open house, he flagged me down from the hallway for me to talk about my experience to a student who was going to major in History as a History major myself. Anyway, I highly recommend his American politics class!

As I mentioned previous, I also did Open House this week, which was personally my favorite event thus far! I saw my professor from Native American history, Professor Lambert--I swear when I saw her it was equivalent to the same reaction stumbling into an old friend on the street (except that I just saw her two days ago, at UCBA) and went "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE???"

I saw an English professor I took for poetry and women's literature, Professor Pettit, and whom I also worked with as an intern, now Editor of the Blue Ash Review. It was funny because she hadn't recognized me at first until I showed her my Ambassador picture, because her course was my favorite class. I went to the English department's table to play "guess the author" and I am very disappointed in myself as I literally only got 2. When she told me the rest, I recognized all the names except 1--but I swear I know their words better than their faces!

As well, I was able to meet Professor Brinkmann and speak a little bit about my experience in the Honors program, which is always rewarding in itself. Whenever I get to speak on personal growth, I really harbor more appreciation for the time and the journey it took for me to reach where I am. I hope I did some justice to talking about how empowering, life-changing, and simply amazing it is.

Welp, that's it for this week. Tune in for Week 7!
